Ohio Mutt bees are raised from my stock that has overwintered right here in Ohio. We originally started with an Italian and Carniolan honeybees. Over the years I have added in breeding stock form several great queen producers here in Ohio. These queens are winter hardy, gentle and productive honey producers.

  • I breed from our local stock that has survived winter year after year. The winter climate here in Ohio has a lot of up and down weather. Queens that are responsive to local pollen & nectar flows tend to build up at the right time.
  • I brought in stock from Greg Burns at Nature’s image farm, Sue Colby’s New World Carniolan, and Joe May’s little bits queens.
